Harrie Oort is co-owner and director. He is responsible for customer relations and manages all drilling projects on behalf of Aurora.
He started his career in the 80s in Holland, taking management roles in companies like Diamond Drilling Services, DBS and Smith Bits. Harrie’s career span several countries, including stints in Norway and Oman as Product Engineer, Technical Sales Manager and Regional Manager.
A qualified drilling engineer, Harrie is passionate about every drilling project he has ever managed, yet the GdF Tesla, Maersk Culzean and DNO Dubai projects really stand out to him.
Harrie enjoys football, taking on DYI projects, spending time with family and friends, and walking his dogs outside of work.
Nick Biggs is co-owner and director. He is responsible for drilling operations, business administration and customer projects at Aurora.
He spent over 22 years with Baker Hughes, working in several locations such as the US, Canada, Scotland and Oman.
Specialising in onshore and offshore drilling performance in previous roles, Nick has focused on specific fixed cutter products, application engineering and analysis for better bit performance.
Nick’s favourite project so far is the Cygnus development for Neptune EP UK Ltd in the UK SNS. The project showcased Aurora's blank canvas approach as being accurate and effective in durability and efficiency indexing.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys wine, walking with a bit of rugby and cricket, and he’s got a soft spot for watches.
